Open Grok on the web, iPhone, or Android and start a build. As of 19 August 2026 this is on every plan — the July early beta was narrower. Your first prompt should fit in a sentence.

Name the person and the action
Who uses it, and what they do once. “A grocery list I can check off” is a build. “A productivity platform” is not.

Keep the first version small
No accounts, no payments, no five screens. Ask for the happy path and for the list to survive a refresh on this device.

Change it by talking
Follow-ups edit the same app. “Add a button that clears checked items” is the whole request. Don’t restart the project for a label.

Stop when you can click it
Use the live preview in the chat. If the button does nothing, say what you tapped and what you expected.
Build a grocery list. I add an item, check it off, and the list is still there if I refresh. Large buttons. No accounts.
